Hey Everyone! I know Christmas is over but I’ve been getting a ton of requests to do a Minecraft Diamond Boot Stocking so I decided since I love this time of year I’ll do it!
You’re going to need:
Some type of light blue fabric. I found one with glitter
Blue thread that matches your fabric
Black trim that will go along the edges of the boot
Blue trim (as the lighter reflection of the boot)
We’ll start by laying down our fabric in half so it is double layered. Find a template of the Minecraft boot online and print it (I printed it in two separated parts and taped them together). Pin it down and Start cutting around our template but be sure to leave a 1/4-inch border around the template. We’ll need the extra spacing since the boot shrinks after sewing
Remove the pins and choose the side you will begin decorating. With the right side up, begin sewing your black trim onto the boot. Be sure to leave a 1/4-inch slack
After sewing the entirety of the black trim, measure how much light blue reflective trim you will need by budding it against your template. Continue by sewing this trim onto the boot
I decided to add another layer of black trim. This is what it looks like thus far
Lay down the other side of the template so that both sides of the decorated boot are facing each other. Pin them down and sew them together (be sure to leave an opening at the top)
Fold in any excess at the top and sew it down
For the finishing touch, we will add some black trim to hang it up. Sew this on the back portion of the boot
I absolutely love the way this stocking came out! Even though Christmas has passed, you can store other knick-knacks in here As always, if you decide to try this week’s DIY GG, tweet me an image at @ihascupquake
Thanks for watching!
