Hey everyone! For this Quake N Bake, I wanted to make Kirby Cake Pops!! I’ve been a big fan of the games (and some of the shows were fun to watch also). These are so cute looking I must say they are my favorite cake pops thus far! Let’s get started
You’ll want your the base of your cake pops already done, as seen below (cake pop how to link in video description)
We’re going to start decorating Kirby with fondant – we’ll be adding a little bit of red to our white to get the Kirby pink color. Make an indentation in the fondant and apply a small amount of food gel dye (start with a little and add more if need be). Mix/knead; if it gets too sticky, add some powdered sugar
We you achieve Kirby’s pink color, make small ovals which we’ll be using for Kirby’s feet. Put it into the fridge to chill
Next, let’s melt some pink candy melt
I prepared a piece of styrofoam with holes in it, so we could stand up our cake pops when complete
We’re going to be using Jelly Bellys for Kirby’s arms. The colors don’t matter since we’re going to be dipping them in pink chocolate
Pour some pink chocolate where Kirby’s arm will be placed and then stick the jelly belly on there and hold for 10 seconds
With arms
Now you are ready to dip your cake pops into the chocolate! Make sure it’s runny, it helps to apply it like this
Let the excess drip down while twirling it so you don’t get any streaks. Before it’s dry, place Kirby’s feet/shoes and hold for 10 seconds
Let’s but most importantly! The face decorations! You’re going to be using colors black, blue, red and white
We’re all done! These are my favorite cake pops ever! If you decide to try this, tweet me an image or send an image to our facebook page!
Thanks for watching
