Hey Everyone! By request, today we’re doing something Zelda related! Specifically, we will be making a Triforce Nail Thread Art piece
You’ll need a wooden board to begin this DIY (it should be fairly thick)
Let’s start by painting the background green with some yellow, for slight variation in color (acrylics were used, but any color medium would work)
You can virtually paint/draw/design anything on your board. I choose green/yellow because of the contrast the final piece would have
We’re going to make perfect equilateral triangles so pull out your ruler and measure out a 3×3 inch square
From there, measure half of one side (1.5 inches) and draw two lines that end on the two corners of the opposite side
Cut out your perfect triangle and place on the board. Begin to draw your triforce by outlining your triangle four times, like pictured below
Use your ruler to make straight lines throughout the triangles. Make sure the lines are dark
Now let’s draw some points where we are going to hammer in our nails. Start at every corner of each triangle and their mid points. Then add two points on both sides of every mid way point
Hammer in all the nails into their corresponding points. Nail them in as straight as possible
Here’s the fun part: choose a color thread and begin by tying a knot on the center triangle you choose (I have shown above on what triangle and side I started on, by its up to you. I wanted it to look as if it is radiating from the center triangle).
Keep weaving to you achieve this result or your desired result
Have fun with the weaving! Be creative as you want to and experiment with thread color!
We are done! These came out really nice (it reminds me of Christmas heh :p) and are really simple to make! Just be careful with the nails and use a corkboard underneath the board, so you don’t mess up any table or surface. As always, if you try this, tweet me an image at @ihascupquake
Thanks for watching!
