Hey everyone, my name is Dustin and I am an editor here at Cupquake HQ! So today I'll be sharing with you some of the behind the scenes things I've been doing to stay calm and collected during this time of social distancing and lock-down!
First off, what day is it? Does anyone know? I've been staring at these same four walls for days...Time is a blur...
No, haha. Actually, staying isolated hasn't been too terrible. I've had the chance to spend a lot of time with my dog, Indi - so he seems to be pretty happy with everything at the moment! Right boy!? ...He said yes.
Aside from that I've been diving even further into the things that I love! I've been podcasting lately which is just a fun way for me to hear myself talk for 30 minutes or more about movies, games, comics or whatever really comes to mind. It's also been a cool opportunity to learn more about microphones, audio recording and audio editing. Keep learning kids! Never stop.
I've also looked myself in the mirror and decided that I'm going to fully embrace the nerd I want to be and have started binge-watching the Kamen Rider series from 1971! It's old, the story-line is cheesy, the effect are bad and I absolutely love every second of it. There's only 98 episodes in this season so be sure to place those bets on how fast you think I'll blaze through them all in a Dr. Pepper fueled, subtitled bender!
What else...Oh! I've been reading manga digitally. Since going to the bookstore is out of the question, I decided to purchase my manga on the iPad and give it a try there. I'm currently reading The Way of the House Husband which is a comedy about a retired Yakuza member who just wants to do chores, pay bills, watch TV and live a normally life. It looks like it should be a lot of fun.
So yea, that's what I've been up to recently. I'm trying to use this time to stay as productive and active as possible, I'm also attempting to dig into projects that I've been meaning to start. With all the extra time on my hands, I'm back to writing my next script and prepping to make some new short films once this is all over so...hey, maybe you'll be watching one of my films soon. We'll see.
See ya' space cowboys!
