Self Care Spotlight - David

Self Care Spotlight - David
Hello fellow humans!
I'm David and I'm a graphic designer/webmaster here at Cupquake HQ! I know these times are tough for a lot of people but we're going to make it through stronger and better than ever :) I'm going to walk you through a couple of things that I do to practice self-care in my daily life.
Exercise! Seems like a big no brainer but if you're physically able to, start a beginner's workout plan and be gentle with your body. I've been a big proponent of exercise for the past ten years to improve myself mentally, physically and emotionally. The routine I partake in almost daily is: I begin with 10 minutes of rebounding (i.e. jumping on a mini-trampoline) to warm up, strengthen and cleanse every cell in my body. Afterward, I perform the 5 Tibetan Rites; these isometric exercises mimic yoga, are intended to help you be more supple and get your chakras/energy centers in your body moving at a healthy pace. Lastly, I'll do a strength training routine, relying heavily on bodyweight exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and squats. I do my best to keep to this regimen for 4-6 days a week!
Energy healing techniques is another crucial one for me! It's of paramount importance to reduce stress during turbulent times. One of my favorites I practice is The Healing Code to lower my daily stress and heal past negative emotions that may be contributing to my current state. Our cells store memories so it's important to address this in some form or another. It works by pointing your fingertips to direct energy to certain master glands/energy centers in your head. I linked above to the book but there is a more intensive program here.
VITAMINS! They're my favorite weapon in my self-care arsenal. I have a backpack full of vitamins I typically lug to and from our CupquakeHQ office and would like to share a couple with you! Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that helps your body cope with stress and also helps to ease anxiety. Rhiodiola is an herb that provides energy and boosts your immune system. And lastly, Olive Leaf has many anti-microbial properties to keep me feeling healthy all year round.
Hope you guys and girls look into some of these things :)
